The entire Galaxies are dying, Astrophysicists warn the scientific society!

Stripped of their ability to produce new stars, the unfortunate galaxies are stuck in time, slowly vanishing as their existing stars fade away or die in violent supernovas.

Now a team is investigating the nearby Virgo Cluster to figure out what’s going on in hopes that similar phenomena are happening there, project leader and McMaster University astrophysicist Toby Brown writes in The Conversation. Brown suggests that galaxies are being killed as they interact with the extreme conditions of tightly-packed galaxy clusters — but he’s not sure why.

Narrowing Down

To clarify, when Brown writes that “in the most extreme regions of the universe, galaxies are being killed,” he doesn’t mean that they’re suddenly vanishing. Rather, the formation of new stars within them is being shut down by yet-undetermined factors.

So far, Brown’s team has arrived at two possibilities, and Brown hopes that using advanced telescopes to probe the still-forming Virgo Cluster will tilt the scales one way or another.

Cosmic Starvation

The first possibility is called ram pressure stripping, a process through which all of the gas that a galaxy would use to form stars is vacuumed away by nearby intergalactic plasma. The other is that the environment inside a galactic cluster simply becomes too hot for cosmic gases to cool and condense into stars, rendering it useless as fuel.

“When you remove the fuel for star formation, you effectively kill the galaxy,” Brown writes, “turning it into a dead object in which no new stars are formed.”

We might soon be able to communicate telepathically

At least, that’s the gist of a new report about neural implant technology by the Royal Society, that was reviewed by The Independent. The document hypes some of the more exciting things brain-computer interfaces could make possible, but also warns that brains hooking to the computers ( watching too many SciFi movies!!) could also compromise individual privacy.

“Not only thoughts, but sensory experiences, could be communicated from brain to brain,” the report reads. “Someone on holiday could beam a ‘neural postcard’ of what they are seeing, hearing or tasting into the mind of a friend back home.” - Little bit of exaggeration.... Do you guys think that way? 

To make sure that these neural implants of the future are used to benefit people and society, the Royal Society is calling for a government probe into the tech, The Independent reports. Otherwise, companies like Facebook and Tweeter that are already working on their own systems will be able to dictate how the tech is used on their own terms.

“They could bring huge economic benefits to the UK and transform sectors like the NHS, public health and social care,”  report co-chair Christofer Toumazou from Imperial College of London told The Independent. “But if developments are dictated by a handful of companies then less commercial applications could be side-lined. That is why we are calling on the government to launch a national investigation”

Why should you use Apple Card?

The unique thing about the Apple Card itself is that it is titanium and only has your name imprinted on it. There is no signature, card number, expiration date nor security code. It retains a chip and a mag stripe.

It is intended to be mostly used via electronic Apple Pay. When using the physical card you sign digitally not on a paper receipt. The missing info on the card, lack of signature and no need to sign a receipt will likely confuse retailers until they get used to seeing it.

The cash back isn’t that great a deal but it does show up immediately in the Apple Pay Cash card in the digital wallet soon after a transaction.

The big thing is the lack of fees and extreme transparency about your transactions and your debt load and the way a minimum payment is discouraged. It actively trains the user to not carry a balance. Far superior customer experience in managing the card.

The shady way most credit card companies do business and profit at the expense of their customers via fees, delays in posting, as well as cash back or restricted flyer miles or digital cash that can only be spent at their curated store, etc., etc., etc. is why the Apple Card might become very popular. Mainstream credit card companies have been milking consumers for decades. Leaving it to consumers to figure out. So the transparency of the Apple Card experience will in my opinion make a huge difference.

You must have an iPhone to use an Apple Card. So it does add to the Apple walled garden but many of us are already locked in. It’s just that we don’t want to get out. It is a comfy garden.

അറിവിന്റ വാക്സിനേഷൻ

സമൂഹത്തിൽ വിഷം പടർത്തുന്നവർ ധാരാളം ഉണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ കുറേ പേര്  എന്തിലും തെറ്റുകൾ മാത്രം കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന ഒരുതരം മാനസികരോഗികൾ ആണ്. പലപ്പോഴും ചികിത്സിച്ചാൽ മാറും ! ഇനി മറ്റൊരു വിഭാഗമുണ്ട്. ആരാന്റെ അമ്മക്ക് ഭ്രാന്ത് വരുമ്പോൾ കല്ലെടുത്തെറിയുന്നവർ .... ഇവരുടെ പ്രശനം അഹങ്കാരം തലയ്ക്കു കേറിയെന്നതാണ്. സ്വന്തം അമ്മപെങ്ങള്മാരും ഭാര്യാമക്കളും മുങ്ങിച്ചാകുമ്പോളും ഇവന്മാർ ആസ്വദിക്കും ..... കാരണം അപ്പോഴും ഞാൻ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടലോ എന്ന തോന്നൽ. ഇവന്മാരെ ചികിത്സിച്ചിട്ടും കാര്യമില്ല്യ .... ലോകത്തിനു ഒരു ഉപകാരവുമില്ലാത്ത ശവങ്ങൾ ആണിവർ .

Time one or many things?

When we think of time we think of it as just one thing, the ticking of the clock. But time has a number of properties and not all of them vary together, nor are all of the properties of time necessarily continuously present. Some properties can be at zero, null, indeterminate or absent altogether.

Let’s start with an example of a property that has actually been dropped from the concept of time, that of ‘Cyclic Time’. Jump back even a few hundred years and this would not only have been considered a natural property of time but an essential or even fundamental property. Everything in the ancient observable world is cyclic.

Indeed, ‘Simple Harmonic Motion’ is still one of the cornerstones of physics and SHM is seen throughout the physical world. SHM can not exist independently of time, but time can exist without SHM as far as we can tell.

If we can drop SHM from time simply because time can exist without it then what of the other properties that time can live without, at least under some conditions?

At the quantum scale when considering single quantum events we note that there are no components of entropy present. The test for the absence of this property is a hypothetical video of a single interaction or an animation based on the data: could we or anyone else tell if the video clip was being played forward or backward? If not then the entropy property is absent. But what of a spatial extension that contains nothing above the quantum scale? Time is still present in the form of spacetime ~ space isn’t completely flat anywhere so the bit of curvature present needs the temporal dimension to describe it. But there is no entropy. Even the virtual particle, the quantum noise, can proceed in either direction.

So there we have two examples of where entropy, and therefore the arrow of time and even the time line are not present. As with cyclic time, each of those concepts can not exist independently of time, that is, entropy can not proceed independently of time.

The interval is another example, as is change and relative time. So what property of time is essential? There must be at least one property of time present for time to be said to be present, but it doesn’t matter which one. A photon can flit across the universe without accumulating an interval of any duration at all, so change can occur without a local interval.

In our usual experience, all the properties of time, including the cyclic component, are present and so it is an effort to imagine time without even one of the properties. As we probe into the physical world, some properties can be dropped or minimised but no property is always present in all conditions, the closest would be relative time as the observer’s clock ticks on regardless of any philosophical musings and so is readily compared to all other clocks in real and hypothetical conditions.

മതങ്ങളെല്ലാം സസ്തനികളാണ്..!!!!

ഇന്ന് ലോകത്ത് നിലവിലുള്ള മുഴുവൻ പരമ്പരാഗത മതങ്ങളും ആദർശത്തിലൂടെ വളർന്നതല്ല. മറിച്ച് പ്രസവത്തിലൂടെ വളർന്നതാണ്.

ലോകത്തുള്ള ബഹു ഭൂരിപക്ഷം മതവിശ്വാസികൾക്കും തങ്ങളുടെ മതവിശ്വാസം പൈതൃകമായി കിട്ടിയത് മാത്രമാണ്.

ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു മത കുടുമ്പത്തിൽ ജനിച്ച കുട്ടി തങ്ങളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ മതം അനുകരിക്കുക മാത്രമാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. മാത്രവുമല്ല ആ കുട്ടിയെ മറ്റു പലതും പോലെ തങ്ങളുടെ മതം അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുക മാത്രമാണ് മാതാപിതാക്കൾ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഒരു കുട്ടി മതത്തിലല്ല യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്. പകരം അവന്റെ കൺമുന്നിലുള്ള മാതാപിതാക്കൾ പറയുന്നതിനെ ആണ് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്.

ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും അവരവരുടെ മതം ശരിയാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നത് ചെറുപ്പത്തിലെ ഉള്ള ഈ നിർബന്ധിത മത പരിശീലനം കൊണ്ട് മാത്രമാണ്.

മതത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഒരു തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിനുള്ള സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം പ്രായപൂർത്തി ആയ ഒരു വ്യക്തിക്ക് യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ലഭിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നത് വാസ്തവമാണ്.

മതത്തിൽ യാതൊരു നിർബന്ധവുമില്ല എന്ന് വറുതെ അലങ്കാരത്തിന് പറയാമെന്നല്ലാതെ ഒരു പരമ്പരാഗത കുടുംബ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രയോഗവൽക്കരണം തികച്ചും അസാധ്യമാണ്.

ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് തന്റെ കുടുമ്പത്തിന്റെ പരമ്പരാഗത വിശ്വാസസംഹിതയിൽ നിന്ന് മാറി ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന ഒരാളെ ആ കുടുംബം സാമൂഹികമായി ഒറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി പീഢിപ്പിക്കും എന്ന കാര്യത്തിൽ സംശയമില്ല. മഹല്ല് വിലക്കലും പടി അടച്ച് പിണ്ഢം വെക്കലും മഹറോൻ ചെല്ലലും തെമ്മാടിക്കുഴിയും ഉദാഹരണങ്ങൾ മാത്രം.

തിരിച്ചറിവാകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പേ മാതാപിതാക്കൾ അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിച്ച മതവുമായി വളരുന്ന ഒരു കുട്ടിക്ക് ആ മതവും അതിലെ ആചാരങ്ങളുമായി ആദർശ പരമായ യാതൊരു ബന്ധവും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കില്ല. കുടുംബ ബന്ധം നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടിയും ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ രൂഢമൂലമായ കേവല വിശ്വാസം ഉപബോധമനസ്സിൽ ഉള്ളത് കൊണ്ടും മാത്രം അവൻ അവന്റെ മതത്തിൽ തുടരുന്നു എന്നതാണ് യാധാർത്ഥ്യം...

വളരെ ചെറിയ ഒരു ന്യൂനപക്ഷം ഇതിന് അപവാദമായേക്കാം എന്നു മാത്രം. എന്നാൽ ഇതിന് പലപ്പോഴും ചില പ്രത്യേക സാമൂഹീക സാമ്പത്തീക കാരണങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്.

മുസ്ലീംകൾക്ക് പന്നി ഇറച്ചി കാണുമ്പോൾ അറപ്പ് തോന്നുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ബ്രാഹ്മണർക്ക് ഏത് ഇറച്ചി കണ്ടാലും അറപ്പ് തോന്നുന്നു...കാരണം ഈ രണ്ട് ഇറച്ചിയും ചീത്ത ആയത് കൊണ്ടല്ല. ഈ രണ്ട് വിഭാഗവും പരമ്പരാഗതമായി പരിചയിച്ച സമൂഹീക സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അവരുടെ മനസീകാവസ്ത്ഥ അത്തരത്തിൽ പരുവപ്പെട്ടത് കൊണ്ട് മാത്രമാണ്.

പട്ടിണിണി കൊണ്ട് മരണത്തോട് മല്ലിടുന്ന ഒരുവന്റെ മുന്നിലേക്ക് നീട്ടപ്പെടുന്ന ഭക്ഷണത്തിൽ പന്നിയോ പട്ടിയോ പശുവോ എന്ന് നോക്കാത്തത് അത് കൊണ്ടാണ്.

ഇന്ന് ലോകത്തുള്ള ബഹു ഭൂരി പക്ഷം മത വിശ്വാസികളും തങ്ങളുടെ മത ഗ്രന്ധങ്ങൾ ബഹുമാനത്തോടെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും അത് മുഴുവൻ വായിച്ച് വിശകലനം ചെയ്യാൻ തയ്യാറായിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് നിസ്സംശയം പറയാൻ സാധിക്കും. പകരം ഇവരെല്ലാം തങ്ങളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെയും പണ്ഠിതൻമാരേയും അന്ധമായി അനുകരിക്കുക മാത്രമാണ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സ്ത്രീകളുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേകിച്ചും.

ഒരോ മതവിശ്വാസിയും തങ്ങളുടെ മതമാണ് ശരി എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത് അന്ധമായ ഈ അനുകരണത്തിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ മാത്രമാണ്...

തന്റെ മതം മാത്രമാണ് ശരി എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മതവിശ്വാസി തന്റെ ജനനം മറ്റേതെങ്കിലും മതത്തിലായിരന്നെങ്കിൽ ആ മതം ആയിരിക്കും ശരി എന്ന് താൻ നിസ്സംശയം വിശ്വസിക്കുമായിരുന്നു എന്ന വസ്തുത മനസ്സിലാക്കിയാൽ..

താൻ ചെയ്യുന്നത് വെറും പൊള്ളയായ അനുകരണം മാത്രമാണ് എന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാൻ കഴിയും.

അന്യ മതങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ വിവാഹ ബന്ധം സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ ഒരു മതവും അനുവദിക്കില്ല. അന്യ മതാചാരങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ ഒരു മതവും അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല. അന്യമത വേഷവിധാനങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ ഒരു മതവും അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല. എന്തിനധികം ഭക്ഷണ രീതികളിൽ പോലും പരസ്പരം നിഷേധാത്മക സമീപനം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നു.

എന്നാൽ രക്തം ആവശ്യം വന്നാൽ മതം നോക്കാറില്ല. കിഢ്ണി. കണ്ണ്. കരൾ ഹൃദയം ആവശ്യം വന്നാൽ മതം നോക്കാറില്ല. ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ഡോക്ടർ ഏത് മതക്കാരനാണ് എന്ന് ആരും നോക്കാറില്ല. ഐസിയുവിൽ തന്നെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്ന നഴ്സ് ഏത് മതക്കാരിയാണെന്ന് ആരും ചോദിക്കാറില്ല. അതായത് സ്വന്തം ജീവന്റെ നില നിൽപ്പ് ആവശ്യമായി വരുമ്പോൾ മതം നോക്കുന്നില്ല....

മുസ്ലിമിന്റെ രക്തം സ്വീകരിച്ച ഹിന്ദുവിന് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ തിരിച്ചും.. അയാളുടെ പിൽകാല ജീവിതത്തിന് അതിന്റെ പേരിൽ യാതൊരു അപകടവും സംഭവിക്കുന്നില്ല..മറ്റ് അവയവങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥിതിയും അങ്ങിനെ തന്നെ...

ഹിന്ദുവിന്റെ കിഡ്ണി ഒരു മുസ്ലിമിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിൽ അത് ഹൈന്ദവ കിഡ്ണി ആയത് കൊണ്ട്  പ്രവർത്തിക്കാതിരുന്നതായി കേട്ടുകേൾവി പോലുമില്ല. തിരിച്ചും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ...

ആയോദ്ധ്യയിലെ ഹിന്ദുവിന് മക്കയിലെ സൂര്യൻ വെളിച്ചം നിഷേധിക്കാറില്ല. മക്കയിലെ അറബിക്ക് വത്തിക്കാനിലും ഓക്സിജൻ ശ്വസിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

ഇതെല്ലാം നിസ്സംശയം തെളിയിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വസ്തുതയുണ്ട്.....

മതം അത് മനുഷ്യനിർമ്മിതമായ ഒരു പ്രാചീന സാമൂഹീക സാംസ്കാരിക വ്യവസ്ത്ഥിതി മാത്രമാണ്...അതിന് ദൈവവുമായി ഒരു ബന്ധവുമില്ല...

ജനിച്ച് വീഴുന്ന ഒരു കുട്ടി ഏതു മതക്കാരനാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാനാകാത്തത് അതു കൊണ്ടാണ്. ജനിച്ച് വീഴുമ്പോൾ അവന്റെ ശരീരത്തിൽ ഏതെങ്കിലും മത ചിഹ്നം കാണാൻ സാധിക്കാത്തത് അത് കൊണ്ടാണ്. അവൻ ആദ്യമായി കരയുന്നത് അറബിയിലോ സംസ്കൃതത്തിലോ അരാമിക്കിലോ അല്ലാത്തത് അത് കൊണ്ടാണ്. ഏത് മാതാവിന്റെ മുലപ്പാലും ആ കുട്ടിയുടെ ദഹന വ്യവസ്ഥ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നത് അത് കൊണ്ടാണ്..

മതം പിന്നീട് അവന്റെ ഉപബോധ മനസ്സിലേക്ക് അവന്റെ കുടുംബ സാമൂഹിക പശ്ചാത്തലം ബോധപൂർവ്വം  അടിച്ചേൽപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അത് കൊണ്ടാണ് ആ ബന്ധനത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്ത് കടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവർ ഒറ്റപ്പെടുന്നത്.

ഇനിയൊരു ദൈവമുണ്ടങ്കിൽ ആ ദൈവത്തിന് ഒരൊറ്റ മതമേയുള്ളൂ...

അത് നിരുപാധിക സ്നേഹമാണ്. വിവേചനമില്ലാത്ത സമാധാനമാണ്. സത്യസന്ധതയാണ്. വിവേകമാണ്. നിസ്വാർത്ഥതയാണ്. വിനയമാണ്. കാരുണ്യമാണ്..

പരമമായ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യം അത് മാത്രമാണ്. അനശ്വരമായത് അത് മാത്രമാണ്. അത് മനുഷ്യ നിർമ്മിത മതങ്ങളുടെ വേലിക്കെട്ടുകൾക്ക് അതീതമാണ്. അത് ഭൂമിക്കു മുകളിൽ മനുഷ്യൻ തീർത്ത കൃത്രിമ വേലിക്കെട്ടുകൾക്ക് അതീതമാണ്.

അലംഘനീയമായ പ്രാപഞ്ചീക ദൈവ വ്യവസ്ഥിതിക്കു മേൽ ഇന്നു കാണുന്ന പരമ്പരാഗത മനുഷ്യ നിർമ്മിത ഗോത്രീയ മതങ്ങളും അതിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ രൂപപ്പെട്ടു വന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയ സമവാക്യങ്ങളും ആധിപത്യം നേടാൻ വിഫല ശ്രമം നടത്തുന്നതിന്റെ ഉപോൽപ്പന്നമാണ് ഇന്ന് ലോകത്ത് നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന  അസമാധാനവും മാത്സര്യവും അക്രമവും എന്നത് നാം ഇനിയെങ്കിലും തിരിച്ചറിയേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Have you every wondered why explorers and discoverers are a special type of hero in our history?

Columbus, Magellan, J C Bose, Marco Polo... they were the pioneers that expanded their existing world. They broke through the existing boundaries to bring in new knowledge and opportunities. Their discoveries were turning points that completely reshaped the world and the horizons of everyone in it.

I bring this up, because just like the idea of independence, this idea also has very personal applications to each one of us.

If independence is about the privilege of choice, what if you don't even know you have better choices than the ones at present?

What if we've grown so accustomed to living and accepting what this present situation has to offer... the same loop, same problems, same opportunities day in and day out that it's become normal to you? That's your world.

It's too easy to fall into the everyday loop, where your habits and routines become so normal that you accept them, or when everyone around you is going through the same routine, that you accept this reality...

But, the truth is, the world is much much bigger than that!

We’re living inside a huge black hole!

According to Niayesh Afshordi, Perimeter Institute Associate Faculty member, we are all living in the event horizon of a huge higher dimensional black hole.

In 2000 Gia Dvali, Gregory Gabadadze, and Massimo Porrati published a paper, “4D Gravity on a Brane in 5D Minkowski Space”, in which they wrote:

The observed weakness of gravity may be due to the fact that we live on a brane embedded in space with large extra dimensions.

The universe appears to us to exist in three dimensions of space. This is a three-dimensional (3D) universe. Imagine that our 3D universe is a subuniverse or brane embedded in a bulk universe that has four spatial dimensions (4D). All known forms of matter and energy are limited to our brane and cannot move to the bulk. It is like flatland, two-dimensional figures live in a two-dimensional world:

Only gravity can propagate in the bulk universe and in 5D Minkowski space, the brane model of Dvali, Gabadadze and Porrati (DGP).

In 2013 three Perimeter Institute researchers, Razieh Pourhasan, Niayesh Afshordi and Robert B. Mann, carried out calculations and argued that it is possible to track the beginning of the universe back to an era before the Big Bang, and we can even avoid the Big Bang singularity. They published their findings in a paper under the title, “Out of the white hole: a holographic origin for the Big Bang” in which they have written:

… our universe emerges from the collapse a 5D “star” into a black hole, reminiscent of an astrophysical core-collapse supernova. In this scenario, there is no big bang singularity in our causal past, and the only singularity is shielded by a black hole horizon.

Thus a 5D black hole (in four dimensions of space and one dimension of time) could have a 4D event horizon (in three dimensions of space and one dimension of time), which could spawn a whole new universe as it forms, that is to say, our entire universe came into being during stellar implosion that created a brane around a black hole. This suggestion avoids the Big Bang singularity. In the standard story, the Big Bang began with a singularity where laws of physics break down. Instead, the scholars postulate that the universe began when a star in a 5D universe collapsed to form a black hole. Our universe would be protected from the singularity at the heart of this black hole by the 4D event horizon.

Scholars first define the brane subuniverse and the bulk superuniverse:

… one way to describe our four-dimensional universe is through embedding it in a higher dimensional spacetime — with at least one more dimension — and investigate its gravitational and/or cosmological properties. This is known as the “brane world” scenario, where the brane refers to our 4D universe embedded in a bulk space-time with 5 or more dimensions, where only gravitational forces dare to venture. Well-known (and well-studied) examples of such scenarios are the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model [bulk universe in a 5D anti-de Sitter space] where 4D gravity is recovered through a compact volume bulk, or the Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) construction…

And then they add the requirement of the holographic cosmology:

Here we study the DGP model around a 5D black hole… We find that viable solutions are indeed possible, leading us to propose a holographic description for the Big Bang, that avoids the Big Bang singularity. … We then give our proposal for a holographic Big Bang as emergence from a collapsing 5D black hole.

The event horizon of a 4D black hole (in four dimensions of space) would be a 3D hypersphere (in three dimensions of space) and it indicates that:

the radius of our 4 dimensional [brane] universe [four-dimensions of space-time] coincides with the black hole horizon in the 5 dimensional bulk [five-dimensions of space-time]

and the radius of our holographic universe < the horizon radius.

When the above team of scholars modelled the death of a 5D star (in five-dimensions of space-time), they found that the ejected material (of the collapsing start) would form a 4D brane (in four dimensions of space-time) surrounding a 4D event horizon (in four dimensions of space-time), and slowly expand. The authors postulate that the 4D Universe we live in might be just such a brane — and that we detect the brane’s growth as cosmic expansion. They therefore explain:

For [… ejected material] chosen to be above […the horizon] the radius of our holographic universe is larger than the horizon radius, meaning that our present cosmos lies outside the horizon of the black hole in the bulk, i.e. [radius of our holographic universe > the horizon radius]. Let us assume that the universe today has its radius larger than the horizon in the bulk black hole. Moving backwards to early times [… back to Big Bang Nucleosynthesis, BBN], as the radius of the universe… decreases, it may or may not cross the […event horizon].

Indeed, crossing the […event horizon] means that at some early time the radius of the universe was smaller than the horizon radius. Since nothing can escape the horizon of a black hole, one would exclude […the ejected material] for which [… its radius of holographic universe…] at some [later times] cross the [event horizon]. Consequently, one may interpret the crossing [radius of our holographic universe = the horizon radius] before BBN as the emergence of the holographic universe out of a “collapsing star”: this scenario replaces the Big Bang singularity.
